It's been awhile.

Sorry it has taken me so long to post. I have been posting on our family blog, Matters of the Heart. Click here if you want to see new photos or hear what has been going on.

Right now our allergy issues are status quot. Both the kids are doing well. The medications are working, and we are avoiding all triggers. Today, the last known problem had to go. We sent our dog to a rescue organization. They are certain they will find him a good home. They will keep us informed of where he will go.

I think this would have been a lot harder if we did not have the allergy issues. The way it stands, my child's health comes first. The dog was outdoors, but my daughter could not play outside without being affected lately. Hopefully, Sam is resting comfortably, with his foster family tonight.

As far as the food allergies go, we have been doing great. No adverse reactions lately. It has been a fairly easy transition to add eggs to our off limit list.

That's all I have for now. I will post about our preschool open house soon. My tree nut/peanut/egg allergic guy, will start in September.

Hope you are all doing well.

  3. Oh, Elaine, I am so sorry. Our dogs both died within this last year. We knew that we couldn't ever get another dog because we found out at the beginning of last year that David is allergic to them. It's difficult and yet there isn't a choice to be made. I just said a prayer for you. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  4. I'm praying for your children and you. I know it's difficult living with one child with severe allergies. I can't imagine having to live with 2 children with severe allergies. My youngest, Delaney, is allergic to milk protein, gluten, eggs, and soy (among tons of other things!) and it is so hard finding things to feed her that do not contain at least one of those ingredients. I feel so bad when we feed her things and discover yet another allergy. Her GI tract is so messed up. I struggle to find the right words and actions to comfort her through the stomach pain and discomfort during those times when she is having one of her reactions. I will continue to keep you all in my prayers. I'm also very sorry you had to send your dog away. My middle child, Paisley, was allergic to our cat. Being around the cat caused her asthma to be impossible to maintain. We had to send the cat to live with someone else. I was heartbroken, as I was very attached. I hope they were able to find a loving home for your four-legged friend. Take care of those beautiful children and I will check on them again soon.
